To The Girl Who Wants To Chase Her Dreams

I just finished the book Wild & Free a couple of weeks ago and I am still completely and utterly taken aback by how this book made realize about how I think about myself and my dreams and by how much this book has changed my way of thinking.

This is a letter to me, and any girl out there who needs a little encouragement and a reminder to chase their dreams.

Dear Beautiful,

I bet that is a weird way to hear someone speak to you. Beautiful! That might not be the way that you think of yourself but I am talking to you. This letter is to remind you just how wonderful you are, how smart, gorgeous, and capable you are. To tell you that you do not have to hide anymore, and you don’t have to feel like you can’t make it, because you can.

Let me start by telling you that that dream you have been having, you know the one that seems to big to achieve, or too good to be true; go for it!
The dream that you seem to think about over and over again, the one that gives you butterflies and a huge face brightening smile when you think about the possibilities of it, the one that no matter how hard you try to forget about you can’t seem to shake; that dream might not be a dream.
That dream might be visions and insights into the life that you are going to have, the life that the Lord has already set up for you in the future and that He wants you to start stepping into.

Isn’t that an exciting thought??
That the Lord is giving us insight into the plans He has for us; things we love and that make us happy; those things we were always drawn to but never knew why.
But here is the thing about those dreams, we have to go for them!

Now that’s when we get stuck. That’s when we get afraid. That’s when we start to feel under qualified. That’s when we start to look at these visions as just dreams.
When we start to think about going for it.

But I want to tell you, you can!
You will not be under qualified because if the Lord is giving you these visions and is urging you to go for it, it’s because you have the skill for it, you just haven’t tapped into yet. If you have always had a love for it, it’s because there is a passion in you that will make it flourish in a way that it wouldn’t with anyone else.

Know that you can!
Do not be afraid that you are not good enough because God will make you good enough. He will pull out of you the things that are in you to make this dream success.
Don’t worry what other people say because if they speak badly it’s because they are being used to help make you do even better than the last time.
Don’t be your own worst critic because you are the only person who can successfully make yourself give up, and the thought of what could have been is worse than whatever you are feeling when it is happening.

Remember that you are beautiful, you are worth it, and that you are called.

So go for it!

If God believes in you enough to tell you about it than believe in Him to show you what you have to do to make it happen. And then dive all in, it won’t be easy, there will be bumps along the way, you will have a lot to learn, and you will make more mistakes than you can count on both your hands and feet, but it will be worth it!

These dreams are not just dreams they are small glimpses into your amazing future!

With all my love,
A friend!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
-Jeremiah 29:11
